Questions about Shoogle

What is Shoogle?

Shoogle is a free daily dice word game. You roll twelve letter dice, spell words to spend them, and try to clear the table. It plays in a browser on phone or desktop, with no account and nothing to install.

What is the shortest word allowed?

Three letters. The Qu die counts as two letters, so it can make a three-letter word with just one more die.

What is a Clean Sweep?

A Clean Sweep is clearing every die from the final table, once no more dice can be drawn. It pays a bonus of fifteen and is the best ending in the game.

How many shoogles do you get?

Three per game. Each one draws fresh dice from the bag; shoogling a full table reshuffles it for free instead.

What does the gold die do?

The gold die is wild. You choose which letter it becomes when you play it, and it is worth zero points, so it is never a penalty to leave.

How does scoring work?

Every die carries a value in its corner and a word scores the sum of its dice. Clearing the table adds a Table Clear bonus of five, and clearing the final table adds the Clean Sweep bonus of fifteen. Dice left on the felt at the end are subtracted.

Does everyone get the same board?

Yes. One board arrives each day and it is the same for every player, so scores are worth comparing. Practice boards are also available and never affect your daily record.

Is Shoogle free?

Yes. Shoogle is free to play, with no account, no adverts and nothing to buy.

Does it work offline?

After your first visit, yes. Shoogle keeps itself on your device, so the day's board still plays without a connection.
